I think this is a very silly thing to ask french people if they like their own country. Do you think we would dare to ask an Aussie if he likes Australia? He would think it is a stupid question, cos the answer is obviously yes.
I don’t know if you have visited all of France or if you stayed in the same place, if so, you don’t know the country. I know only Sydney so far, can I say that I know Australia?
I am sure you hear a lots of french people criticizing everything. That’s how we are but it does not mean we hate our country.

Well, we hear French people abroad who criticise the country they are in (England, Australia… )
So, why can’t it happen the other way round?

Where about do you live in france?? it’s true weather is sucks in here but south of France is not too bad and the mentality is different.

I spent 1 year in Australia, traveled all arround and I really loved it (Darwin is awesome). Australia it’s a beautiful country and true that is nice to live there…
But we’ve got something that u don’t have in Oz it’s history, so if u are in to museum, art and old stuffs, France it’s a good place 4 u… and we’ve got nice food as well!! but if u think u don’t fit in here anymore u can still go back to ur own country.

However i never criticised my own country coz France it’s a nice place as well but just the mentality and the weather are hard to get use to it after 1 year in Oz… (mostly because I live next to Paris)
It’s true that if I could I would live in Oz but just for few years to start with…

    See y@

Australia has history. Maybe the « white » history is not as long as the one in Europe but there is one indeed. Maybe you can’t see it in the form of ruins or old castle but dig a bit and you can find some.
You should read more about it, it is actually quite interesting how this nation was built in « only » over 200 years.
As for « black » history in Australia, it is about 60,000 year-old. Who can do longer than that?

Saying Australia has no history is a big verbal poo. This is so typical Europeanish to say that to make you feel better about whatever…

Good one missholloway!! I just can’t stand hearing Europeans (principally the French I have to say) bragging about their ‘History’ like the rest of the world has just been created.

Titing, by South of France I hope you don’t mean the xenophobic, snobish and corrupted French Riviera? 😉
